TOWN OF SHARON
ASSESSORS MEETING MINUTES
MAY 22, 2003
7:00 P.M. Called meeting to order. Present Ellen Abelson, Paula Keefe,
Richard Gorden and Mark Mazur.
1. The Board reviewed and approved as amended the minutes to our
05/08/03 meeting.
2. The Board reviewed and then signed, a notification of pro-rata tax
liability, for three parcels of vacant land. They were sold by HPKF
LLC., an exempt organization, to private individuals.
3. The Board noted, that our request for funding for the photographing of
buildings townwide was approved by Town Meeting this week.
4. The Board reviewed an application for abatement of a motor vehicle excise,
filed by R. Braccia. The Board directed the Administrative Assessor to send
him a letter requesting that he document his residency in Sharon.
5. The Board read a letter from Richard Morse concerning the sale of part of his
classified land. He is unable to produce recorded copies of his deed and
plan. He would like us to compute his rollback taxes using unrecorded copies.
The Board decided to await advice from the state before deciding this matter.
6. The Board was told of a Planning Board meeting scheduled for
05/28/03, at which they will be considering changing the zoning of some
property. The Board decided against sending them a letter expressing
the Board’s view of the matter.
7. The Board read an article from last Sunday’s Globe, concerning a pending
Warrant article on residential exemptions.
8. The Board decided to hold their next meetings on June 12th and June 26th.
